On arrival, the box was heavy; I managed on my own but had someone available to help, just in case. It arrived in perfect condition, nothing more to say on that.
Inside, I found the different parts, starting, of course, with the chair base, the seat and the backrest, but also the cushions, the casters, the mechanism, the gas lift and the screws. Everything is well protected and organized. As you can see, there are not many parts, and I wasn’t overwhelmed.
This is a very easy chair to build. Indeed, I assembled it in 20–25 minutes and I even took notes and pictures during that time. In short, it went pretty fast, and that’s because of how well thought out the design and the assembly process are.
I noticed this first in the instructions. Instead of starting with the backrest, the manual specified to start with the seat. I placed it upside down (armrests on the floor) and then added the base, before flipping it over. It’s convenient and easy.
The design is very well thought out too, especially when it comes to the backrest. This is often a difficult step, as it requires you to align the tilt mechanisms properly with the backrest screw threads. Then you have to insert the screws, often by feeling around as you can’t see very well. The Vertagear PL6000 has anticipated this: the backrest is simply slid into the seat. From then on, everything is ‘automatically’ aligned and placing the screws is child’s play. There are no screw covers, but honestly, they’re not really necessary, as the screws blend in with the fabric.

Finally, it should be noted that the assembly instructions apply to several Vertagear models, but between the clarity of the instructions and the photos, I easily managed to build the chair.
Simply put, assembly is fast and identical to the assembly process of the Vertagear SL5000, a gaming chair I recently reviewed. On this subject, let me clarify: the two models are similar in many respects, and differ in specific features. I will therefore focus in particular on those specific aspects, while, of course, presenting all the other characteristics of the PL6000 gaming chair.
I will detail here the multiple features of the chair:
In my view, the many features of the Vertagear PL6000 are one of its biggest strengths. The maximum adjustment of the backrest is not as wide as it could be, but the range of the tilt means that you can actually rock back far enough. The cushions are also of good quality, rather comfortable, even if using memory foam would have been a bonus, especially at that price. For the armrests, though I like the 4D design, I don’t think that it is optimized enough, and I will talk about it in detail in the next section. I also find that they are not padded enough: rather rigid, they are not especially comfortable on the arms.
After testing the Vertagear PL6000, I can say that it has an excellent build quality. The structure is solid and stable, and the attention to detail is consistent. Fabric, structure, cushions, mechanism and gas lift: they are all premium. I’m a bit wary of the armrests though: their 4D design has potential but they aren’t sufficiently ergonomic with a lack of padding and a plastic feel. Now let’s look at the details:
In conclusion, I think the Vertagear PL6000 is a solid and stable high-end gaming chair packed with features. The build quality is excellent and the adjustments are generally good, although the armrests are less convincing.
Let’s talk about comfort and review in detail the feel on the back, neck and head as well as the quality of the seat and armrests.
This gaming chair is ergonomic and comfortable on the back.
First of all, the backrest is well padded and its comfort is quite snug, even more so thanks to the contoured edges. The lumbar cushion is also useful, as you can easily fit it in any position. Although the padding is not exceptional, the cushion fulfills its purpose perfectly and supports the lower back reasonably well. After several hours of use, I had no pain!
I also found the gaming chair ergonomic for the head and neck thanks to the cushion. Without it, the top of the backrest is too lightly padded to provide sufficient support. With the cushion, the comfort is good and supports the spine well.
However, for the price, I would have preferred memory foam, which is more ergonomic thanks to its ability to adapt to the body.
I found the seat comfortable, with a rather firm support. Perhaps it’s my imagination, but I think the seat is more balanced than the seat of the much firmer SL5000 gaming chair. It feels close to the Noblechairs Icon. For more firmness, opt for the KLIM eSport gaming chair. Although it is theoretically possible to sit cross-legged, I wish the seat was wider and therefore more comfortable.
To conclude my review, the Vertagear PL6000 is a high-end, versatile gaming chair that is suitable for big and/or tall people. This model is similar to the SL5000 including for the quality of the fabric and the structure, extensive features and overall a very good level of comfort. However, it’s a shame that sitting cross-legged is difficult and I wish the seat was wider.
Apart from the design, the only other distinguishing feature is the cross-legged seat which isn’t well executed. Overall, I think this is an excellent gaming chair, but it compares poorly to the cheaper Secretlab Titan Evo XL, which offers the same features and has better armrests.

So, do I recommend the Vertagear PL6000 gaming chair? Yes, if you are tall or have a large build. If you are a medium-sized person weighing up to 264.5 lbs (120 kg), the SL5000 is still a more interesting choice due to its lower price.
