If you only have a few hundred dollars to spend on an ergonomic chair for work or gaming, this is a really nice option. It has everything I would expect to get from a gaming chair, but no frills or luxury features save the lumbar support pillow.

The Respawn RSP-110 is one of the first gaming chairs I ever received, and it’s still one of my favorites. The PU leather fabric and thick foam padding are a treat to sit on for hours on end, whether you’re doing some intense gaming or kicking your feet up for something more casual. It certainly looks the part with a sleek black design and hints of one of eight colors woven in. If you want to brighten up your space, it does come in a white and pink color scheme as well.
It’s quick and easy to flip out the footrest with one hand to take some weight off your feet and get that blood flowing again. The chair reclines back to a respectable 155° to maximize the effectiveness of the footrest. You won’t be lying perfectly flat, but you can still watch a movie or show fully reclined.
The lumbar support pillow gives your lower back the help it needs whether you’re using the footrest or not but is a welcome addition when you are leaning back. A comfortable and supportive headrest pillow gives your head a place to rest when your feet are up.
The armrests move with you when you go into recline mode, but they are otherwise fixed in place. They are nicely padded, but the lack of mobility can be a deterrent for some. Should something not quite work as it should, Respawn is one of the few companies out there with a five-year warranty on most parts.

For an immersive and laid-back experience, look no further than the GTRACING Gaming Chair with Speaker and Footrest.
Two speakers adorn either side of the headrest, offering a surround-sound experience that places you right in the middle of your game. These speakers are able to play for up to six hours without interruption before needing a charge. Using Bluetooth technology, you can link the sound up to any Bluetooth-compatible device, be it PC, console, phone, or TV.
After ducking for cover from the sounds of explosions all around you, flip out the footrest for a more relaxed approach to gaming. Should the desire arise, you can even lean the chair back to just ten degrees from horizontal. With your head slightly propped up, what’s to stop you from drifting off with some ambient music playing all around you?
Speaking of being propped up, this chair comes with a headrest pillow to make kicking your feet up that much more comfortable. There’s also an included headrest pillow to give your lower back some cushioning and extra support.
The armrests adjust in three directions, making it easy to dial in the perfect location to suit your gaming style. A firm rubber covers each armrest, offering each arm a solid place to rest while not being uncomfortable.

The Homall Gaming Recliner Chair masterfully blends the comfort of a traditional recliner with the functionality of a gaming chair, offering a sturdy, wide-seated design ideal for console gaming.
Weight: 63 pounds |
Seat Width: 25.5 inches |
Chair Fabric Material: PU Leather |
Maximum Weight: 265 pounds |
Reclining Angle: 90° to 150° |
Armrests: Fixed |
Four fixed legs |
The Homall Gaming Recliner Chair is a fantastic marriage between a traditional recliner and a gaming chair. It’s designed with a wide body and four fixed legs to keep the chair sturdily on terra firma. It may not be suitable for use at a computer desk without wheels, but it works well for console gaming.
Normally, the chair stands at a vertical 90°. When you want to make use of the footrest, you can lean back to one of two other positions. The first, at 120°, partially extends the footrest for gaming or watching TV. At 150°, the footrest fully extends in a position best suited for napping.
This larger, softer chair offers more comfort in the long run than racing-style gaming chairs with wheeled designs. To boot, this recliner has a built-in lower back massager and remote control to soothe tired and sore muscles.
You will need a bit more room for this recliner in your home than a racing gaming chair. The chair comes mostly pre-assembled, making setup a breeze, but you’ll have a bulkier box to contend with.

The Blue Whale Gaming Chair, true to its name, is a robust and accommodating option for gamers of all sizes, boasting a wide 20.9-inch seat and a high maximum weight capacity of 350 pounds, all while maintaining a reasonable weight of 55 pounds.
Weight: 55 pounds |
Seat Width: 20.9 inches |
Chair Fabric Material: PU Leather |
Maximum Weight: 350 pounds |
Reclining Angle: 90° to 155° |
Armrests: 3D adjustable |
Heavy-Duty Nylon 5-Wheel Base |
Comes with a head and lumbar support cushion |
Like its namesake animal, the Blue Whale Gaming Chair is an absolute beast of a design. The seat spans nearly 21 inches from side to side and 22 inches from front to back for all types of gamers. In addition, it supports up to 350 pounds of total weight on its frame. The chair itself isn’t even that heavy at 55 pounds.
Once you’re settled in, you can turn on the included massager that’s built right into the lumbar support cushion. After you’ve treated your lower back, you can slide the cushion up to let the rest of your back enjoy the vibrations as well. The massager works best with the chair reclined up to its maximum 155° with the footrest extended. I can’t imagine a happier place than with feet elevated and a massager pulsing all over your back.
Reclining or not, the Blue Whale Gaming Chair also comes with a headrest pillow. The armrests are made from a firm rubber material and offer two dimensions of movement. It’s possible to raise, lower, or rotate them toward or away from you however you need.

Pulaski Power Recliner is designed to offer a superior gaming experience, with a reclining angle ranging from 90° to 160°, making it perfect for both intense gaming sessions and relaxation.
Weight: 119 pounds |
Seat Width: 24.4 inches |
Chair Fabric Material: Premium faux leather |
Maximum Weight: 300 pounds |
Reclining Angle: 90° to 160° |
Armrests: Fixed |
Fixed metal base |
The Pulaski Power Recliner is a supercharged design in every sense of the word. It literally has a power outlet and two USB charger ports hidden in one of the armrests that you can use to keep a phone or controller charged up. You could even plug a laptop in and make use of the chair’s included tray. If the tray is in the way, it stows down into the arm when not in use.
This large piece of furniture covers an area of approximately 3.5 by 3.5 feet in total and needs its own corner of the room. With the footrest out, it does take up even more physical space. At 120 pounds fully assembled, you don’t want to have to be moving it around much either. The good news is that it blends in well as a high-quality piece of living room furniture.
That being said, it is a quintessential reclining chair and leans nearly all the way back to horizontal to while away your cares in. It works great at any angle with a console or laptop but isn’t going to meet the mobility requirements of a PC desk setup. As a standalone chair, it also comes with a cupholder and hidden storage for smaller gaming paraphernalia.
This recliner’s high price point means it’s not ideal for everyone, but it is a great way to game away the night if you can afford it.

Last but not least, the OHAHO Gaming Chair brings together many features that gamers appreciate under the umbrella of a budget-friendly design.
This chair can go as low as you need with the ability to lay completely horizontal. When your gaming session has you wiped out, you can use this chair to take that much-needed nap. Should you need another angle, you can lock it in any position for streaming or gaming.
Even better, the footrest easily slides out for use in any of these positions. Napping or gaming is always better when you can get your feet up off the floor and avoid leg strain. Speaking of comfort, the OHAHO gaming chair comes with a head cushion and lumbar support pillow to compliment the chair’s foam padding.
The lumbar support cushion has a USB electric massager designed to eliminate muscle fatigue. It operates off an included USB-A cable similar to what you’d find with a tablet or smartphone.
The armrests can move up or down so you can ensure your arms are sitting at a comfortable angle. They unfortunately do not offer any other adjustability options. You can pick up this OHAHO chair in one of eight different vibrant colors to really make your gaming area pop.

The Ficmax Ergonomic Gaming Chair has comfort in mind throughout its design. The chair’s steel frame is designed to carefully contour to your body and provide support from lower back to neck. Two-dimensional armrests adjust up and down and forward and back to help keep your hands and arms in a comfortable position.
Under the seat is 4.8 inches of memory foam material, so you can sit for long periods of time without discomfort. This model also includes a removable headrest pillow and a massaging lumbar support cushion to work away aches.
This Ficmax chair’s top-tier feature is the retractable footrest that slides under the seat when not in use. When you’re playing a game that allows you to take a more relaxed position, you can bring out the footrest and put it to good use. In most instances, the footrest works best when you recline the chair back at least some of the way.
Fortunately, you can recline back as far as you need to from the vertical position to the horizontal. Lower settings are better suited for watching a movie or catching a nap, but even a slight recline with the footrest can get your feet off the floor.
Pros:
Cons:
You won’t be using your footrest all the time, so what’s the point in investing in a chair with one? As long as your feet are on the ground, your body is unable to fully relax. Blood has to be pumped all the way back to your heart when you’re sitting. This position also puts strain on your lower back, hips, and legs themselves.
Getting your feet off the ground will take a lot of that pressure off, allowing you to relax that much more. Adding in a bit of recline further alleviates that burden, placing you in a much more comfortable state. With your legs on a more similar plane to the heart, it also means the blood can circulate that much more easily.
Racing chairs typically have the same type of footrest that slides out from underneath the seat for use. Footrests on actual recliners will offer more leg and support that flips out from the front of the chair. Although different in design, either one should serve its purpose well.
Most footrests are not long enough to be of much use when you’re sitting fully upright. Their true benefit comes when you throw the chair back into a nice recline. As mentioned before, this position is where your body is going to relax the most anyway. Make sure you pick up a chair that lays back slightly past vertical for gaming or all the way flat for that crucial nap if you ever want to use it for this purpose.
While a footrest is a highlight of any gaming chair, don’t forget to look at the other features it may offer. Footrests are all about comfort, so chair manufacturers will often incorporate extra padding or massagers to take the comfort level up to 11. Don’t underestimate what built-in speakers or a charging station can do for you if you can justify the price.
The majority of the chairs on this list can function perfectly at a PC desk or playing your favorite console game. Difficult to move recliners aren’t going to slide easily up to or away from a gaming desk. If you’re going for a specific aesthetic with your setup, some chairs have more color options than others and can play a factor in your decision-making process.
Each of the chairs on this list comes with an extendable footrest that you can use to give your legs the rest they need. Study the pros and cons of each before deciding which one will work best for you.
My top recommendation for a gaming chair from this list is the Respawn RSP-110 Gaming Chair. It is comfortable from top to bottom with a plethora of padding and large head and lumbar support pillows. The armrests and footrest are well-padded with the same material as the rest of the chair, a rarity you don’t often see. If you pick this mode up, don’t be surprised if you find yourself dozing off more than a few times!
