So, what is the number one gaming chair that popular streamers and YouTubers use? It turns out that it’s the Secretlab Titan. More popular YouTubers and streamers use the Secretlab Titan than any other gaming chair, according to the results of this study. However, Secretlab isn’t the most popular gaming chair brand on the market. That title belongs to DXRacer, which is the brand of choice for more than a quarter of all the influencers in this study.

And the interesting results don’t end there. Read on, and I’ll reveal everything else I found out. We’ll also discuss the top 5 gaming chair brands and models that popular streamers and YouTubers use in more detail to find out what makes them so special. Let’s get started!

The Results of the Study at a Glance

Here are the main takeaways from this study:

• DXRacer is the most popular brand – it’s the brand of choice for more than a quarter (26.8%) of YouTubers and Streamers
• The Secretlab Titan chair is the most popular chair model – 7 popular influencers (8.2%) use this exact model of chair
• Almost a fifth of YouTubers and Streamers used a chair from a non-gaming chair brand – 19.6% of YouTubers/streamers in this study used either a Herman Miller chair (15.9%) or an Ikea chair (3.7%)
• The top 3 brands command the majority of the influencer market share – The majority of YouTubers/Streamers use chairs from one of just three brands: DXRacer (26.8%), Herman Miller (15.9%), and Secretlab (12.2%). Collectively, these brands account for 54.9% of chairs used by YouTubers and Streamers.
• I identified 12 different brands used by streamers and YouTubers – after discounting chairs for which the brand wasn’t definitively identifiable, I found 12 different brands used by YouTubers and streamers
• I identified 28 different chairs used by streamers and YouTubers – there were 28 different models/Series of chairs identified in this study, excluding those for which the exact model of the chair could not be identified

I also found out what the top 5 most popular brands and chairs are and have listed them in order of popularity further below. Before that, let’s discuss these results in a little more detail.

Study Methodology

I picked out 85 of the most popular streamers and YouTubers based on their current following and a few other factors. I then trawled the web to find out which gaming chair each of them used on a daily basis and compiled the data together in one place for analysis.

For 24 of the 85 influencers I looked at, the exact make/model of gaming chair was unknown and these results were discounted. In many of these cases, the brand of gaming chair was known and was included in the results.

Analysis of the Results

DXRacer was found to be the most popular brand, accounting for over a quarter of all chairs used by streamers and YouTubers. This is not particularly surprising, considering that DXRacer is one of the oldest and most well-known gaming chair brands.

Part of the reason they’re so prevalent is also no doubt due to the fact that they have a very large range of chairs, with many more chairs than the majority of other gaming chair brands.

The fact that the Secretlab Titan was shown to be the most popular individual gaming chair is also as expected. We’ve already written about how it is my pick for the best gaming chair in 2023, so it’s only natural that so many pro gamers chose this chair.

However, there were a few surprising statistics too.

Surprising Results

The most unexpected result of this study was the popularity of Herman Miller. Herman Miller is a luxury office chair brand, not a gaming chair brand. Despite this, it was shown to be the brand of choice for a large number of pro gamers and influencers.

This is likely due to the fact that Herman Miller chairs offer superior ergonomic and tend to be more expensive than other gaming chair brands, thus appeal to professional streamers.

Other non-gaming chair brands also appeared in the study. Ikea chairs, for example, were used by 3 popular YouTubers and streamers, despite being available at a significantly lower cost than other high-end brands.

Famous gaming chair brand AKRacing was completely absent on this list, despite being one of the world’s leading manufacturers. Why they are so unpopular amongst the influencer crowd isn’t entirely clear, but it could perhaps suggest that they’re not as active in pursuing partnerships and sponsorships with popular influencers as the other brands.

A final point worth mentioning is that Maxnomic – a brand widely regarded as one of the biggest names in the industry – was only mildly popular. They were the 6th most popular brand on the list. Interestingly, they were, however, the brand of choice for two of the top three most popular gaming streamers by follower count – Tfue and Ninja.

Top 5 Most Popular Gaming Chairs Used by Streamers & YouTubers

The chart below illustrates the most common gaming chairs used by popular streamers and YouTubers based on the percentage of those in this study that used them.

1. Secretlab Titan Gaming Chair

The Secretlab Titan is probably the best gaming chair you can get right now. It boasts superior quality PU leather upholstery (you can also upgrade to NAPA leather or Softweave Fabric), 4D armrests, tilt lock, cold cure foam, and has a maximum load of 290 lbs.

2. Herman Miller Embody Chair

The Embody chair by Herman Miller is nothing like your typical gaming chair. It lacks the ‘racing car’ style backrest and plush padding. Instead, it focuses exclusively on ergonomics and breathability.

It really raises the bar when it comes to ergonomic design. Every element of this chair has been designed to conform to the user’s body, posture, and movements. It’s no wonder it’s so popular with YouTubers and streamers.

The six YouTubers and Streamers who use the Herman Miller Embody chair are Sodapoppin, Jericho, DingleDerper, Symfuhny, XQCow, and CaptainSparklez.

3. Herman Miller Aeron Chair

The Herman Miller Aeron is in joint second place with the Embody. Both chairs have a lot in common, in that they’re super breathable and designed to work in harmony with your body. The ergonomics on both are unquestionably as good as it gets.

The main difference between the Aeron chair and the Embody chair is that this one has a slightly smaller backrest and utilizes even finer mesh for more breathability.

The six YouTubers and Streamers who use the Herman Miller Aeron chair are Shroud, TimTheTatMan, Cizzorz, Trick2g, LazarBeam, and DashieGames.

4. DXRacer Racing Series

The Racing Series is DXRacer’s most popular line of gaming chairs amongst the YouTubers and streamers in this study. Like all DXRacer chairs, it boasts superb build quality, 4D armrests, tilt lock, an extra-high backrest, and all the other features you’d expect from a high-end gaming chair.

Unlike the DXRacer Tank Series, which is designed for the biggest and tallest gamers, the Racing Series is designed for medium-sized users, which is probably why it’s so popular.

5. Vertagear SL2000 Gaming Chair

The Vertagear SL2000 is the official chair of Team SoloMid, which is why it’s pretty popular amongst the pro gaming crowd. It’s a surprisingly affordable chair that feels as awesome as it looks.

The four YouTubers and streamers that use the Vertagear SL2000 are Dakotaz, TSM_Daequan, TSM_Hamlinz, and HighDistortion.

Now we’ve talked about the chairs, let’s talk about the brands. Here’s a graph showing the most popular brands of gaming chairs amongst YouTubers and streamers, according to the results of this study.

Let’s talk about each of the top 5 brands to see what makes them so popular.

1. DXRacer

DXRacer is the oldest of all the gaming chair manufacturers out there. They’ve been making luxury seats since way back in 2001. They started out as a manufacturer of luxury car seats but moved on to develop gaming chairs in 2006.

They utilized the same kinds of designs used in luxury sports cars for gaming chairs and pioneered the ‘racing-style gaming chair’ design that is still so popular today.

They have more separate lines of gaming chair than any other gaming chair manufacturer. With so many different chairs to choose from, it’s no wonder that more YouTubers/streamers use a DXRacer chair than any other brand.

2. Herman Miller

Herman Miller is practically ancient. They’re a furniture brand that has been operating for more than 100 years.

They’re known for being innovators and leaders in the world of office ergonomics and work with a team of scientists and experts to ensure that all their products feature top-of-the-range ergonomic designs.

They’re all about health and wellbeing and have won numerous awards for their innovative, health-oriented office furniture designs.

3. Secretlab

Secretlab is a relatively new gaming chair brand that didn’t open up shop until 2015. Since then, they’ve grown rapidly to become one of the most popular new gaming chair brands.

Their founders were a group of competitive gamers who felt that there wasn’t any gaming chair that had everything that gamers wanted and decided to make a chair that did.

They’re my personal favorite gaming chair brand right now and I really feel that you can’t beat their chairs when in terms of the price-to-quality ratio. Both their Titan Series and Omega Series are popular with pro-gamers and streamers.

4. NobleChairs

NobleChairs was the fourth most popular gaming chair brand identified in this study. Almost 10% of all YouTubers and Streamers we looked at used a NobleChairs chair, mostly due to the popularity of their ‘ICON’ and ‘EPIC’ Series of gaming chairs.

NobleChairs is a company based in Germany that caters to professional gamers and eSports teams. Their chairs feature a more sophisticated, stylish aesthetic than many other brands on the market.

5. Vertagear

Finally, we have Vertagear – the fifth most popular gaming chair brand in this study. 8.5% of YouTubers and streamers used a Vertagear gaming chair, and their ‘SL2000’ chair was by far the most popular choice.

Vertagear likes to innovate and create exciting new products that push the boundaries. They’ve just recently released the world’s first-ever LED/RGV gaming chair that can be wirelessly controlled.

Like Secretlab, they’re a relatively new brand that was founded in 2015.
