What Gaming Chair Does Dakotaz Use?

Dakotaz is one of the best Fortnite streamers out there. He’s had huge success in the gaming world and grown his YouTube channel to over 3 million subscribers. I wanted to know what kind of gaming chair a pro-gamer like this uses, so I did the research and put together this guide so that you don’t have to!

So, what gaming chair does Dakotaz use? Dakotaz uses the Vertagear SL2000 Gaming Chair, an excellent mid-range gaming chair with superb ergonomic features. Specifically, Dakotaz has the Black & White ‘TSM’ edition of the gaming chair, which includes custom ‘Team SoloMid’ branding in the upholstery.

Now you know what chair Dakotaz uses, but you don’t yet know why. However, you will know by the end of this article, as I’ll be going into detail about what makes the Vertagear SL2000 a gaming chair worthy of a pro-gamer like Dakotaz and answering all the rest of your burning questions.

Is Vertagear a Good Gaming Chair Brand?

First, let’s talk about the brand. If a pro like Dakotaz chooses to use a gaming chair made by Vertagear, they must be one of the best brands on the market, right?

Yep, they are! Vertagear is one of the biggest new brands in the industry. They opened up shop back in 2015 after being founded by an ecclectic mix of furniture specialists, gamers, and designers.

Since then, they’ve quickly risen to fame and carved out a space for themselves in the gaming chair market.

They’re not as old or established as other brands like Maxnomic and DXRacer, but they’re quickly catching up. They’re known for innovating and creating new, exciting gaming chair products that mix things up and bring something new to the table.

For example, they’ve recently

created the World’s first wirelessly controlled LED/RGB gaming chair.

That’s the brand, now let’s talk about the chair.

Key Features of Dakotaz’s chair: the Vertagear SL2000

So why does Dakotaz use the Vertagear SL2000 gaming chair? What makes this chair so special?

The answer is a lot of things. The Vertagear SL2000 has a lot of features that make it a great gaming chair for a pro gamer. Here are just a few of them:

Good Adjustability

Gamers like Dakotaz need to make sure their chair fits their posture, size, and play-style. As such, adjustability is important. Fortunately, the SL2000 is highly adjustable and boasts:

  • An adjustable backrest up to 140 degrees
  • Adjustable tilt mechanism with tilt lock
  • Fully adjustable, cushioned armrests

High-quality construction

The Vertagear SL2000 is also excellent when it comes to the construction. The chair has a steel frame; a reinforced, heavy-duty aluminum, 5-star base; a class 4 gas lift, and ‘Ultra Premium High Resiliency Foam’ padding.

Eye-catching Design

This chair doesn’t just feel great, it looks great too. The black and white design looks great in any gaming setup, the detailing makes it look super-cool, and the TSM logo is the perfect finishing touch for any TSM fan.

What is TSM, you ask? Great question!

What is TSM?

TSM stands for Team SoloMid, an eSports organization from the US. The team was founded back in 2009 by Andy Dinh and consists of players in League of Legends, Super Smash Bros, PUBG, Fortnire, Magic: The Gathering Arena, and a few other games.

TSM signed Dakotaz back at the start of 2018. Since then, he’s been representing them in his Twitch streams, which is probably one of the main reasons he chooses to use the Vertagear TSM chair.

TSM isn’t the only esports organization to partner with Vertagear. Vertagear also do branded chairs for other gaming teams and organizations, such as:

  • Misfits gaming
  • Method
  • Spacestation gaming
  • NZXT

How Much Does Dakotaz’s Gaming Chair Cost?

Dakotaz’s gaming chair costs around $329.99 right now. It might surprise you to hear that his chair is that affordable – it’s a mid-range chair with a mid-range price tag.  At the top end of the market, luxury gaming chairs can cost double that.

Despite earning big bucks from his YouTube channel, Dakotaz has still opted for a fairly competitively price chair, which says a lot about how good value for money this chair really is.

It’s actually not even the most expensive Vertagear gaming chair model on the market. Their SL5000 series costs a little more at around $389.99.

Who Else Uses a Vertagear Gaming Chair?

Dakotaz isn’t the only famous gamer to use a Vertagear gaming chair either. Here are some other well-known influencers using chairs from the same brand:

Myth – Vertagear Triigger 350 Gaming Chair

Fortnite gamer and YouTuber Myth, captain of TSM’s Fortnite team, also uses a Vertagear chair. Apparently this team is just super fond of Vertagear! Surprisingly though, Myth doesn’t actually use the TSM branded chair.

Instead, he uses the Vertagear Triigger 350 gaming chair, which looks a lot more like an ergonomic office chair than a gaming chair. Instead of a plush padded backrest, it features breathable mesh upholstery that helps to keep Myth cool while he’s gaming.

Hamlinz – Vertagear SL2000

Hamlinz is another member of TSM and a YouTuber with over a million subscribers. Like Dakotaz, he too uses the Vertagear SL2000 – TSM edition.

Alternatives to the Vertagear SL2000 Gaming Chair

If you want a pro gaming chair like Dakotaz, but the SL2000 just doesn’t feel right, here are a few alternatives worth checking out:

1. Vertagear PL6000 Racing Series Gaming Chair

It’s from the same brand so it comes with all the same features that I love about the SL2000, but it’s built for larger users.

The seat is deeper and wider so that you have more space to move around in your chair, which is particularly beneficial if you have large thighs. It also has a greater maximum weight of up to 440 lbs.
