Top 10 Best gaming chairs under $200 in 2022

If you think that gaming chair like DXRacer, AKRacing, Vertagear are too expensive, here I am going to show you the best 10 gaming chairs that cost under $200.

The selection

I have selected the top 10 gaming chairs under $200 base on :

  • The features
  • The customers’ reviews
  • And my experience with gaming chairs

To be honest the order doesn’t really matter, as this is more a personal preference. But with that selection, I guarantee you that you will get a good product no matter you choose.

10. UOMAX Gaming Chair Ergonomic Office Recliner for Computer

UOMAX Gaming Chair Big and Tall Ergonomic Rocking Desk Chair for Computer, Racing Style Office Chair Recliner with Footrest and Massage Lumbar Support, PU Leather E-Sports Game Seat for Gamer. (Black)

This gaming chair from UOMAX is quite unique. You have for a little less than $200 a true gaming chair with adjustable backrest angle, height adjustable armrest, lumbar support, and a headrest pillow.
In addition to that, you have a retractable footrest which paired with the adjustable backrest can give you a very comfortable experience.
You also have an electric massager pillow which is a little bit gimmicky (in my opinion) but can be useful.

Moreover, it can support up to 300 lb load which is enough for 90% of people.
The dimensions of that chair are also very good which give you a lot of breathing room. Also, many reviews on this chair are very satisfied with the padding.

This chair could have been way higher in the list, but with only height adjustable armrest and a quite high price tag, there are more compelling options in my opinion.

9. GTRACING Gaming Office Chair Game Racing Ergonomic Backrest

GTRACING Gaming Chair Racing Video Game Chair Ergonomic Backrest and Seat Height Adjustment with Pillows Recliner Swivel Rocker Headrest and Lumbar Tilt E-Sports Chair (Black/Red)

A very popular product Amazon, this GTRacing product is just a classic gaming chair. No gimmick, just a simple gaming chair with all the basic features: adjustable armrest, adjustable backrest angle ( 90°-170°), headrest pillow, lumbar support, rocking chair etc.

The dimensions of this chair are also normal. Nothing crazy, but I find the seat to be a little bit narrow. It might be an issue for big guys so be careful. I still recommend it if you are on a tight budget for the weight capacity which quite high (300 lb). If you want a complete list of gaming chairs for overweight guys, check out my guide.

Ovearall, this is a great value product for anyone on a tight budget. I think that is why it has become quite popular, the price is well below $200, and it offers a very solid experience.

It could have been higher on the list if the chair were more spacious.

8. Merax Gaming Chair High Back Computer Chair

Merax Gaming Chair High Back Computer Chair Ergonomic Design Racing Chair (Green)

Like the GTRacing’s chair, this gaming chair from Merax provide you all the basic features that you find on most gaming chair. In addition to that,  you have a more spacious chair which makes it even better.

The main complaint that I had with the GTRacing’s chair is now gone. With a 33.1″ backrest you can fit people that are 6’2″ ( and maybe beyond) with ease.  The seat is also quite large: 21.7″ gives you enough room for your legs. You should not have problems with that chair.

That being said, I wish that the maximum load capacity was higher. At only 250 lb, it is still decent but a 300 lb would have been better especially when you consider the fact that this chair is quite large. So if you are a tall guy, but not very heavy this chair is an excellent choice. Also, I would like to see 2D adjustable armrest as they provide so much more flexibility and comfort than 1D armrest.

7. Merax U-Knight Series Racing Style Gaming Chair

Merax U-Knight Series Racing Style Gaming Chair Ergonomic High Back PU Leather (Blue)

Another product from the Merax brand, which objectively worse than the previous model. So why is it above in my list ?

My response is simple: consistency. You see, the previous product from Merax misses the point, it was large and had a solid set of features but the fact that the weight capacity was not on the same level, makes it less relevant in my opinions.

With that model, you know what you are getting and who it is for.

At a load capacity of 225 lb, you have to be quite light (at least compared to me). Also, when you take a look at the measurement sheet you see clearly that this is a gaming chair for normal and thin people. So if that is the case for you, then this chair is a perfectly balanced product.

And as before, it has all the “standards” features of a gaming chair for a much lower price than previous model.

6. Furmax Gaming Chair High Back Racing Chair

Furmax White Gaming Chiar with Footrest

The Furmax gaming chair a very compelling offer. Not only you have all the basic features of a gaming chair ( adjustable armrest, adjustable backrest angle etc…) but you also get a footrest which is a nice addition.
It has a maximum capacity of 310 lb, which great for bulky guys and the dimensions are quite nice too. The seat is large enough for most people (20.9″) and the backrest has a decent size.

It could have been higher of the list it was as large as the Merax Gaming Chair High back. But when you take into account the price (check on Amazon), this chair is a more satisfying option overall.

To sum up, a very solid choice for anyone looking for a gaming chair with a footrest.

5. Cyrola Large Size Real PU Leather High Back

Cyrola Large Size Real PU Leather High Back Comfortable Gaming Chair with Footrest PC Racing Chair with Lumbar Support Headrest Ergonomic Design (Blue/White

The Cyrola’s gaming chair is very similar to the Furmax product. It has the same features and a footrest but it the main differences come from the dimensions.
This chair is as large as the Merax High back gaming chair. But most importantly the weight capacity is finally at a level that I was looking for. With his maximum capacity of 350lb, this chair is capable of supporting bulky guys with ease.
And finally when you see that the Cyrola’s chair cost less than the Merax gaming chair you understand why I put this chair at this position in my list.

4. Devoko Ergonomic Gaming Chair Racing Style Adjustable Height High-Back

Devoko Ergonomic Gaming Chair Racing Style Adjustable Height High-Back PC Computer Chair with Headrest and Lumbar Support Executive Office Chair (Black)

I must admit that from here it starts to be difficult to rank these chairs. You see, they provide nearly the same things over and over again with only minors differences. So ranking one above another objectively is a hard task. So when I saw that chair from Devoko when I was making the list, I was quite surprised.
Not by the features, they are all the same, but by the design. I really like this chair has it imitate (quite well to be honest) a premium look from another manufacturer that I like: SecretLab.
Sure it has a very high weight capacity 350 lb is very good, but that is not why I put that chair at the 4th place. It because this is a nice looking chair in my opinion.

It could have been number one or two if it was more spacious and if it has 2D armrests.

3. SONGMICS Racing Sport Chair Gaming Chair High-Back

SONGMICS Racing Sport Chair Gaming Chair High-Back Computer Chair with The Headrest and Lumbar Support Black, White URCG12W

One thing that all the previous chair as in common were the features. They all add adjustable backrest and adjustable armrest etc… But they were all in 1D that is to say only height adjustable. Don’t get me wrong this is well better than fixed armrest, but in my experience having 2D armrests makes a significant difference in terms of comfort.
You see when you can adjust the armrest at the perfect position it relieves all the tension that you have on your traps which make you feel more comfortable.

Thankfully this Songmics chair has that feature (2D armrests). And this is why I put this chair at the 3rd position.
On the other hand, it lacks the rocking mechanism which is not a big deal, but that why I could not put this chair higher on the list.

2. KILLABEE Big and Tall 350lb Massage Memory Foam Gaming Chair

【Upgrade Version】KILLABEE Big and Tall 350lb Massage Gaming Chair Metal Base - Adjustable Massage Lumbar Cushion, Retractable Footrest High Back Ergonomic Racing Computer Desk Leather Office Chair

This KILLABEE chair is basically a more complete version of the Songmics chair. It has the rocking mechanism and a footrest which is always nice to have. Coupled with 2D adjustable armrests you have a very comfortable chair.

Moreover, it has a very high weight capacity (350 lb) and a decent size which make it usable by the vast majority of people, even bulky guys. However, if you are very tall, this chair might not be the right one for you.

1. HULLR Gaming Racing Computer Office Chair, Executive High Back

HULLR Gaming Racing Computer Office Chair, Executive High Back Diamond Quilted Ergonomic Reclining Design with Detachable Lumbar Backrest & Headrest (PC PS4 XBOX Laptop) (Black/Blue)

And here is my number one pick. This chair has the best features that you can find under $200. Not only you have an adjustable backrest angle up to 180°, but also 3D adjustable armrests. Having that feature for that price is very very rare. Usually, this is something that you find on high-end gaming chair that cost $250 or more.

In addition to that, you have a quite high build quality ( so review says that is comparable to DXRacer chairs) and it can support up to 330 lb, which is great.

Sincerely this is by far the best chair on the list. Although the rest are pretty decent, this one is the best feature/price ratio that I have ever seen.

Is it possible to find a good gaming chair under $200?

Yes and here is why.

For the past couples of years, the gaming chair market has become very competitive. Many brands see the opportunity to make more profit from gamers, who are big spenders.

Right now we can divide the gaming chair market into two categories: the premium brands, and the low-cost brands.

Premium brands like DXRacer, AKRacing, SecretLab, do not offer products under $200. I know that s*cks.

But you can still find decent products under $200. With low-cost brands, you can get relatively good build quality under the $200 mark.

How is that possible? You may ask.

Well, as I said before the market is very competitive so to differentiate themselves, they try to attract customers by lowering the price. They cut cost in various ways, but generally, the quality is not very far off premium brands. Sure, they are not as well built as SecretLab chairs for example but the build quality is decent.

Where they cut cost is less visible for the customers. For instance, the customer support is probably less responsive than premium brands, also they do not spend a lot of resources on marketing and branding.

So as you can see, this is still a viable option for gamers on a budget who would like to have a decent product at low-cost. You will find most of these products on Amazon as this is where you can find the most brands and product.

Conclusion

As you can see, you have very viable options between $100 and $200. When I wrote my guide on the 7 best gaming chair under $100 I felt like I didn’t have much choice. Finding good product under $100 was hard and that’s why I’ve only selected 7.
However, between $100 and $200 you have way more option plus, the quality is a step above what you find under $100.
The order is quite subjective, to me to maximize comfort you must have a good set of features, and a chair that is large enough that’s why I focus on those two aspects.

That being said, if you are lost and you don’t know which chair to choose, just pick the one that you like on that selection, and you will have a good chair.
